Hello World

Okay, so the term 'Cocoa' might not be quite as prominent as it once was, but 'macOS-iOS-watchOS-tvOS-Cheerleader' was a bit too verbose.

Awesome, Oh wow...

There are so many APIs to cheer about, particularly since WWDC 2019 with the release of SwiftUI and Combine, that now seemed a perfect excuse to dust off the Cocoa Cheerleader Pom Poms. (Who are we kidding, as if we needed an excuse!)

Gimme a 'C'... 'H'... 'E'... 'E'.. 'R'...

It also seemed like a good time to try out Swift on the server, so this site runs on a web app called 'Cheer' written in Swift using Vapor. It\'s a work in progress so expect things to break, or to change for no apparent reason, or for functionality to be completely missing.

Content is likely to be a mixure of development topics related to iOS and macOS, interspersed with random nonsense.

Who is this David person anyway?

David is a carbon-based (the element, not the framework) lifeform descended from an ape. Represented internally as a tuple, the technically-accurate preferred-pronouns are they/them, but he/him is perfectly fine too, depending on which one you\'re talking to. David has developed on Apple computers from the Apple ][, and is yet to work at Apple.
